An important starting point
This website and our work come from a sincere passion and deep-seated respect. Passion for these true "fireballs in the sky" and admiration and respect for those who have had the privilege to fly them. We respect and admire all the pilots and veterans from all nations. Without distinguishing between winners and losers. Their life experiences have often exceeded the limits that we consider humanly bearable. Many of them died on their first mission. Others, too few, have survived, but at a very high price. However, what we intend to firmly demonstrate is our moral rejection of war, the absolute evil of which, sooner or later, humanity will have to break free. Do not think, therefore, that our project is hiding behind some nostalgic ideology. Yes, we are the honest enthusiasts who allow themselves to be fascinated by the great beauty that only a World War II plane or military vehicle is able to express, but we are also fully aware and firm in the belief that they are killing machines. For those who have used them and for those who have suffered them. The image we have chosen for our homepage fully displays our thinking. The faces of those twenty-year-olds, the crew of a British bomber, conveys all the happiness, relief and deliverance of a return unscathed from a dangerous bombing mission. Even today, in spirit, we take part in their joy. Similarly, we can not forget that at the same time as this beautiful picture was taken, a few hundred kilometres away, other men, women and children were suffering firsthand the enormous horror caused by the hands of those young airmen who appear so happy.
